FAQ
Why is temperature conversion calculated differently?
Temperature scales (Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, Rankine) are offset-based and not simple ratios. They require additive operations, e.g. °F = °C × 9/5 + 32.
Are data conversions based on binary or decimal multiples?
Data categories follow standard binary multiples (1 KB = 1024 bytes). IEC standards (KiB, MiB, GiB) are explicitly represented to avoid confusion.
Is there a limit to calculation accuracy?
Calculations utilize 64-bit IEEE 754 float precision in JavaScript, offering roughly 15-17 significant decimal digits of accuracy.
